So, today I had court again, and I think I jinxed us. Everything was going wonderfully well - we had eight matters listed, six showed up, we had two go ahead and adjourned the rest. The two that went ahead were mine, and both had aatisfactory resolutions, even with the Sheriffs refusing to put anyone on community work because of a 'technical error' - what this is I have no clue, but it's bloody annoying since cases come to court that shouldn't. So, Nick and I are sitting there, waiting for 11.30 and the opportunity to ask for warrants to arrest on the final two cases that haven't shown up...

...When the magistrate asks me to assist, as 'friend of the court', in a particularly convoluted objection to registrar's refusal to revoke a fine.

We got out of there by twelve thirty-ish, finally, and I swear, my blood pressure was soaring because of this one case that could not be fixed easily. No sooner am I in the door than I have three people demanding I answer questions for them. Immediately. Like, right now. All at once.

Eventually I got back to my computer with my first cup of tea for the day. Mental note: always have tea before court, otherwise you're caffiene-deprived until you get back, whenever the hell that is. And got back to my email. People had been emailing me, which was good. People at work kept bloody well asking asinine questions every five minutes (everything from "How do you spell 'accomodate'?" to "What does 'prudent' mean?" to "Why is that vein throbbing in the middle of your forehead?"), so every time I picked up a revocation to work on, or tried to reply to an email, I had to stop at least once. I swear, five lines in a log to Red took me twenty bloody minutes to type at one stage because Alex would not shut the hell up.

Okay, I possibly would have been a lot more accomodating if today wasn't the day before the period strikes. I don't get depressed and mopey when I'm PMSing. I get irritable, cranky and if I have a bad day, occasionally homicidal.

But, now I'm home (after getting rained on, stupid psychotic Melbourne weather - it was hot at lunchtime!), and while I don't have time for my usual soothing bath, I am having dinner and a drink with Phil before his Grand Canada Odessey. Which is just as good. Besides, I really need to get away from the computer for a night, my eyes are killing me.

Yes, I know I'm on the computer now. Shut up. Did I mention the homicidal? No jury would convict me.
