deathpixie: (the old years)
I don't normally get jetlagged that much, especially coming to Canada, but yeah, this time? It's so kicking my butt. Slept until 12:00pm today, and still feel vaguely seedy, and it's not like I had that much to drink at the pub last night (yes, we're still in holiday mode). Still, I managed to get myself unpacked, sort of, and I've eaten. And I'm planning to eat again, since I forgot food yesterday and there's leftover veggie lasagne in the fridge. There shall also have to be planning for dinner tonight, and paperwork sometime this week - health care card, bank account, all the rest of the stuff that gives me a legal presence here. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] threw the Resume of Public Service Doom at his boss last week, so there is employment stuff vaguely covered, plus I'm on paid leave until February, so there's no panic there.

It's cold out. About the same as Melbourne's winter, complete with rain and cloudy skies. And apparently it's tagged to be the coldest winter they've had for a while, if the last couple of weeks is anything to go by, so yeah, picked a great year for this. Still, there was sun this morning, streaming in through my window and onto me in my bed. Once I get my room cleaned up more, there shall be photos. ;)

Oh, and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] has pretty much rearranged the whole place. People will be impressed when they come for New Year's.
deathpixie: (you can't take the sky from me)
This one comes from [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], one of the new people I met at [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s wake. It was really fitting, I thought, that I'd come away from that with new people I wanted to stay in touch with, at least via LJ. So very Kielle, I think.

Any way, USCJ (as opposed to [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] who is UKCJ) has this meme up. Considering how many of my friends list I've actually met, it works. Although, online together memories also work.

Leave one memory of you and me together. It doesn't matter if I know you a little or a lot, anything you remember! Next, post this in your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

Also, just did my online banking. Can I say how much I love holiday leave loading? There was close to $2000 more in my account than there was a few days ago. So either holiday pay, or that performance pay I was owed, or both. Any way, $1500 is now dumped on my credit card, although there's a fair bit on there left to go. Oh, and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], I'll be transferring that money back to your account tomorrow. Let me know when it goes through, which should take another day given than one day delay thing. It might have to go through in two instalments, given the $5000 limit for transactions online on my credit union.

Since it's all about time and memory today...

Chances are people you don't even know are being introduced to your journal every day, either randomly or through someone else. In addition to recent entries, people can get to know you better by what you posted in the past.

With that in mind, post a link to your entries on this day six months ago, nine months ago, a year ago, and two years ago.

Six months ago: Well, no entry exactly on the 26th of April, but the next one is the 29th. Rossi settles into the back office at Coroner's and talks like a telegram.

Nine months ago: Again, none exactly for the 26th of January, but on the 27th, Rossi was boggled by the woman with 290 traffic fines and rather seedy post-Australia Day.

One year ago: The Rossi was filthy jokes with which to win the trivia night bad team name contest. Ah, the George Trivia Night. So much fun.

Two years ago: Rossi posted a link to a site about the stages of relationship breakdown recovery and was happy to get her VCR back.

I'm amused that even two years ago, there's very little about the breakup. Talk about your progress. *grins*
