deathpixie: (the old years)

I don't normally get jetlagged that much, especially coming to Canada, but yeah, this time? It's so kicking my butt. Slept until 12:00pm today, and still feel vaguely seedy, and it's not like I had that much to drink at the pub last night (yes, we're still in holiday mode). Still, I managed to get myself unpacked, sort of, and I've eaten. And I'm planning to eat again, since I forgot food yesterday and there's leftover veggie lasagne in the fridge. There shall also have to be planning for dinner tonight, and paperwork sometime this week - health care card, bank account, all the rest of the stuff that gives me a legal presence here. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] threw the Resume of Public Service Doom at his boss last week, so there is employment stuff vaguely covered, plus I'm on paid leave until February, so there's no panic there.

It's cold out. About the same as Melbourne's winter, complete with rain and cloudy skies. And apparently it's tagged to be the coldest winter they've had for a while, if the last couple of weeks is anything to go by, so yeah, picked a great year for this. Still, there was sun this morning, streaming in through my window and onto me in my bed. Once I get my room cleaned up more, there shall be photos. ;)

Oh, and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] has pretty much rearranged the whole place. People will be impressed when they come for New Year's.

nothing will shock me about that apartment. impress me, maybe. shock, no. I was there with the MICE invasion of Mel's, after all.

They weren't my mice, nor was it my invasion.

(although I'm kinda tempted to put down my first two months at Dex's on my resume as survival training....)

It's okay. I just yell a lot and then squish them. I'm a big girl. I can learn to deal with my issues.

Eee. Massachusetts has bad winters I know, but I've heard horror stories about Canada. Good luck with that ;-)
