It's official

Just talked to Sharon, and I'm here until May 2007 if I want to be. I've also emailed my agency and asked Heather to look into that pay rise that was mentioned when I started, since, yeah, I'm going to want some kind of compensation for giving up no paid sick or vacation time for a year. I'll still be doing the job search, tho', since yeah, permanent rules over temping, but at least I can do it without the stress of being out of work.

Also had a very pleasant evening yesterday. Met up with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] after work at Fiddler's Green, potential Dexcon venue for next year and had a couple of drinks - mmm, Caffrey's, how I have missed you, O girly Guiness, time to switch for the winter, I think - and chatted and laughed a lot. Then Dex went off to another thing and I spent the rest of the evening on the couch, tucked up with a blanket, my laptop and Akira on the telly. Got some logging done for the game, did some link editing for the Wiki and had my much-needed downtime. Even got to bed before midnight. ;)

Funny how much simple things can improve your outlook.

Still busy today, but one of the most urgent things has been done, so yay.

Working hard for the money.

Ye gods but I was busy this afternoon. And I'm sort of dead now - tired and hungry, which means I have to work up the energy to go poke around in the fridge and see what's edible...

Still, got huge amounts done today, including all of the stuff assigned to me yesterday, and most of the incidental stuff that came up today. One letter left to write, first thing Monday morning before Alvin gets in. *wry* But yeah, got the important outstanding stuff - court date confirmations, ordering a VCR for a trial James is doing, Jane's List O' Gnish Case Chronologies (and man am I never letting those go un-updated again!) - done, and the things that are waiting are okay to wait until Monday.

Esther's back on Wednesday. I think I can survive until then.

Oh, Heather got back to me, said she'd talk to Sharon about a pay increase and let me know. Whee!
