deathpixie: (never drinking again)
Gah. Way too much beer last night. But hey, it was fun at the time...

Yesterday was kind of random. We played D&D - just four in the party this time. Our gnomish thief, our elven druid, our human sorcerer and my half-elven monk. Too bad for our fighters, tho', since it was a fight-heavy outing - Dex has started off the Greenskin Wars, and we were providing security for resupply wagons. One band of bandits, one chimera and one group of goblins/hobgoblins later, we were at our destination, and promptly went out to collect intelligence from the Rangers. Enter another war party of orcs and hobgoblins.

Actually, it was pretty fun - without our fighters, our magic users really came to the fore, and we made and executed the Best Plan Ever. Well almost the best plan - our sorcerer sort of melted a fort with his fireball spell, which meant less in the way of looting. And yes, my monk continued to display his fame of being the Most Clumsy Monk Ever, falling into a pit of spears and later getting stuck in a Web spell. :P Yes, I suck at rolling.

Dex, Mindy and I hit the Griffin later, although Mindy went to bed after a couple of drinks, having been at work. Just as well, because things got surreal as we were invaded by Santas. Fifty-odd people, dressed in variations of Santa outfits, all very drunken and merry. It was entertaining, if noisy.

I'm currently in the pub next to the laundromat, waiting for my stuff to dry. I'm about half an hour later for Mindy's tree-trimming party already, which is very bad of me, but yeah, slept through and then realised I wasn't going to have any clothes this week without laundry happening. My bad.

And yes, I would be wearing the extra-nice underwear today because I have nothing else. ;P

So, went to Mindy's and joined in her Christmas tree trimming party. It was a lot of fun - there's something really... warm about a group of people gathered around a tree sticking things on it. Lots of laughing and joking and all the rest of the things that comes with being with a group of people you're comfortable with.

And on the way home, it snowed, big fluffy flakes like being in a snow globe. I know it's cold and wet and you have to shovel it out of your driveway if you have one and it's kind of yucky to walk in, but I still like it. Novelty, I suppose. And there's something about walking through swirling soft, white flakes that makes me laugh out loud.

Yes, I'm secretly a big five year old.
