Two realisations...
Dec. 9th, 2009 11:20 am1) The recurring heartburn and reflux I've had all week regardless of what I've had to eat or drink? Is likely a result of the antibiotics course I've just taken and thus the lack of nice, soothing digestive bacteria in my system. So therefore, I need to eat lots more yoghurt.
2) I worked out why I get so cranky and stressed when I'm sick. I'm forcibly unable to do anything for anyone else, which sets off my neurosis about people forgetting about me if I'm not being useful. If I'm not needed, I stress that no-one wants me. Which explains the mopiness of the last few weeks, exacerbated by the hermiting due to illness, lack of emailing due to lack of brain due to illness and everyone fleeing from my germy self. It's going cold turkey on the organising thing. No wonder I freak after a while.
I like it when I work out stuff like this - it makes me feel much less insane.
The weather out there today is horrible. I like snow. This isn't snow. It was snow, at some point while I was asleep last night, but now it's sleety, soggy slush which is only getting worse since it's now 'warm' enough to rain and flood the gutters with melting icy water. Definitely the tunnel again for me this afternoon - it was bad enough getting to the subway station at Runnymede today, and that's barely two minutes from the apartment!
Jane sent her expenses by fax to me today, headed "To Joanne Howard, Legal Assistant Extraordinaire!" It's good to be appreciated. :)
