My Auntie Leanne is coming to pick me up in a half hour, so a brief "I'm alive and not quite so angsty" post. Lee is my mum's youngest sister, and is only four years older than I am - she's more like an older sister than anything - and she's tiny (four feet two, if that, and size 8), my brother and I love to rush up to her in public and give her massive hugs, declaring "Autine Lee!" at the tops of our voices. *chuckles* We're going to this book discussion thing a friend of hers is organising - read a set book per week, meet and discuss it, hopefully over coffee. We're doing The Woman Who Walked Into Doors by Roddy Doyle tonight, a pretty bleak and realistic look at domestic violence and working-class society in Ireland. I'd read it previously, so it was just a matter of reacquainting myself with it on the train to Melbourne last weekend. It's a very good book, although the subject matter is a little too close to what I do for a living. Or maybe that's a good thing; it's very easy to treat the people who come into the court as mere units of work, rather than actual people with sometimes very serious problems.

Speaking of work, I survived my day at the helm of Wodonga Court on my own. Nothing too difficult, really, and the day really flew by. No work tomorrow, so I'm planning to head over to Albury and pick up my tickets for Dexcon. And maybe sort out a mattress for the sofa bed my brother left behind - I'm expecting visitors. *winks at Raph*

I also got mail today - Lise sent me a card! Which is funny, because I'd sent her a postcard during lunchtime. And a birthday card to Ashlan, since her birthday fic is so woefully late and still not finished. Subreality fics just aren't working for me at the moment, although I have a plan to revive the Subreality Awards, which got lost in the ITW changeover. I have the posts written, and an idea for presenting the rest of the results without too much work. Something to work on tomorrow.
