Ah, Saturday...

deathpixieWeekends are much more fun when you're working, because then you have something to look forward to. If you're home sick, they're just another couple of days.
Recovery continues, although the long court day yesterday (again! they did it to me again!) made me pretty tired. And writing a job application (for the promotion offered within PERIN) in an hour didn't help. Thank goodness for previously-written applications I can cannabilise. Public service job selection criteria are always the same. Since the day ad been so long, and so crappy, and I'd had such an anti-social week the week before, I stopped by the pub on the way home to join the Usual Work Suspects for a couple of beers. I did well - I drank a bit more than I intended, but I wouldn't let people top up my glass, and when the last one made me feel a bit queasy, I stopped and came home. I like the Mercat Cross Hotel - it's down by the market, and they have free bar snacks during happy hour and okay music. And a nightclub downstairs, which I'm thinking I'll try out sometime. Maybe once the weather warms up and I don't have to wear multiple layers of clothing. ;)
Men at Arms today with the Maelstrom. The Melbourne Maelstrom, that is, not the ficcer. ;) I just wish the weather was a bit warmer. Again, tired of those afore-mentioned multiple layers.
Ooh, speaking of warm(er) climes, I'm visiting the Brisbane folks next weekend. Whoo!

And thanks so much for all your helpful advice re the Saints and Sinners do. *grins* I had trouble finding a recent pic, and that was the best I could come up with, since Gerg's photos for Walkabout stop at Vancouver, much like my LJ entries...
