It's no secret I love getting snail mail. At least the sort that isn't demanding money or offering to value "my" home. So finding one of those little parcel notifications in my box on Sunday night when I got home was quite a thrill. Of course, with karate on Monday night from 5-7.30-ish (mat training, which involves setting up and packing away around fifty large, heavy gym mats) I wasn't able to get to the post office, so I was extra happy that, due to a VIMS crash, I was allowed to go home at 4.20. Plenty of time to catch the post office (which closes at 5). So I dropped in and collected my parcel on the way home.
But wait, there's more.
As always, I checked the mailbox as I was making my way towards my front door, and what do I find but another parcel notification! I checked, and since it said "First Notice", I figured I'd go back to the post office and make sure it wasn't referring to the same parcel.
And it wasn't! So, two parcels for me, all in the same day! Whoo!
The first was from [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], my wonderful Wondermouse, who had found a gorgeous "The Dream Hunters" notebook for me. The second was from [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], a CD of various comics, including From Hell, a couple of Alan Moore stories and interviews, and the first six issues of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I'm saving them for later - I have a lot of stuff to catch up on already.
So, major surprises in my mailbox today. 'Tis truly a week of happies. :)

Court wasn't too bad today, except for a couple of unhappy punters. Then again, as I got told at least three times today, no-one wants to come to a court. *wry grin* Including the staff. ;) Then VIMS went down, so I haven't been to process the results, but things should be back online again, so I can catch up then. No biggie. I'm always ahead in Appeals, so it's never a big deal if something like this happens.
The feedback session with Vicky was productive - I'm going to be writing down some notes for Thursday's interview, and preparing for what they'll most likely ask. At least if I don't get it this time, I'll have given it my best try. I can only improve.

Oh, and I finally ended the torrid affair between [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and my answering service by calling him back after training. Just as well Monday was a public holiday for him - it was something like 4 or 5 in the morning when I rang. It's been far too long since we last talked.
Anyone got a couple of grand lying around they want to give me? ;)
