What strikes me about your writing is that it's usually very clean in style. I don't have to worry too much about spelling and grammar or sentence construction while I'm reading the story. It's not perfect, sure, but it doesn't pull me out so that I lose the flow of the story because I'm trying to understand what you meant or should have done.
Other than that, yes, very gory bits... but very real characters. Not the typical type. I actually think that you should write some urban fantasy, given your Collective Mutant stuff.
