What kind of work is my name associated with? What kind of assumptions do you make about a piece of writing, fiction or non, if you see my name on it?

Nota bene: This is emphatically NOT an attempt to fish for compliments. I'm not trying to get judgements on the quality of my work, but rather about its other characteristics.

For example, if you were given the name of an actor, that might make you think of a certain genre of film he or she is often in or a type of character.

What is Rossi-brand writing?

And please remember, I have written stories that don't feature a certain chain-smoking English magician. ;)

See, I think I've tried to tell you this before, and this time I don't have the benefit of either hand gestures or vocal tone. *sigh* Anyway, your writing is, as someone said, clean, technically good, which sounds boring, but it also means to me that when I'm reading something by you, I'm in the story. I'm not pulled back by either bad grammar and what-have-you or by tricky tricks which I stop to admire. No, I'm in there and gone. The wankery of literary tricks isn't there to pull the enjoyment up. Not that you don't use cunning tricks (you and the segues, man) but they're used as they're meant to, to enhance the story not distract us with the pretty.

Also, your people! Woo with the real! Very fun. That is unbelievably good. Which brings with it, interesting views of being inside heads and also dialogue that's very solid.

So. Yeah. *grins*
