Big weekend. BIG weekend. Although it wasn't intended to be, what with me going straight home from work on Friday night and having a very sedate night in watching A Wrinkle In Time on Channel 10 (I was a huge Madeline L'Engle fan when I was a kid and the telemovie wasn't too bad an adaptation). Saturday morning I visited more hostels than I stayed in for the entirety of Walkabout, just about, in search of Auscon accomodation (found it too, just need to call today and book). Walked my feet off, just about. *grins*

Saturday afternoon I met up with Phil and we hung around St Kilda, it being a gorgeous sunny day and there being a beach down there. Due to Phil's beer-fuelled mutant ability to make time disappear, I missed the last tram back and crashed on his couch at something altogether too close to 6am for comfort. And we pissed off one of his neighbours. *shrugs* It was Saturday night in St Kilda, get some bloody ear plugs. ;)

Sunday we met up with Bounce and Yasmin to see Kill Bill, a truly violent hack and slash flick which I enjoyed a lot. Mainly because it was all about the fight scenes, and Quentin Tarantino is a proponent of the Asian martial arts film, as well as a Kurosawa fan. And someone must have had a whole lot of fun with all that fake blood and prosthetic limbs.

I was supposed to hook up with the new boy Sunday evening, but couldn't raise him on his phone so I ended up staggering home. To find he'd had to stay on at work until midnight and wasn't going to be able to make it. Which actually was fine by me, since all I wanted to do was sleep by that stage. I'll call him back today, seeing how I'm back at training tonight.

Oh, and I rode the bike into work for the first time in two weeks. Coughed up half a lung, but in a good way - I need to clear my system out. Now if only my ear would unblock, I'd be happy...

First day back in revocations, also. Marked by VIMS crashing yet again. Interesting omen, that. :)

So, how was everyone else's weekend?

I hate to have to tell you this, but that could take a while yet - my mother had a blocked ear for three months at one point, and mine are like that ... well, a lot. However, if it goes on for too many months, they can syringe it for you, I believe.

Hopefully it'll clear up OK on its own sooner rather than later - but don't worry too much if it doesn't *g*.

I was a big Madeline L'Engle fan way-back-when, too...my 5th Grade teacher read it to our class way back in 1965-66. Have you read the other three books in the series? Apologies to you and Bounce.

So, how was everyone else's weekend?

Celebrated the Troll Roommate's birthday (even if everyone in the local area got the email about it and decided not to bother. Guess if you're not an out-of-town visitor, people don't bother doing CRAP for you. F-you, local folks.) by going up to Baltimore to catch a showing of "Bubba Ho-Tep", funniest movie ever. Enough to make me rave about it for days, even with it being an independent film. Gaming on Sunday and a nice decadent dinner at Kobe's.

All things considered, a well-deserved weekend of fun and relaxation.
