Apologies for the dramatics yesterday. I'm tired and I'm stressed and I have way too much I'm trying to do all at once and the whole computer thing was the last straw. I warned you guys last month about the occasional psychotic episode over the next three months, didn't I?

Union meeting last night. We're telling the department to shove their offer, mainly because it doesn't recognise the special duties we do that make us more than just administrative people (the same duties/qualifications, btw, that make it so bloody hard for me to find a job elsewhere, because they don't apply anywhere else). Work bans will be recommencing on Monday.

I'm also a bit miffed I missed Mum's call on Sunday, now. Because when I called back last night, it was to discover that she was in hospital, having just had surgery to remove gallstones. Apparently she had too many for the usual ultrasound treatment and they had to go in. I knew she was having surgery, I just didn't know when, and her call on Sunday night was to let me know. So now I suck as a daughter. I'm calling her on Thursday (she should be out of hospital on Wednesday, but I'm giving her some leeway) to grovel appropriately.

I'm of half a mind to not look at any more real estate sites until I'm actually in a position to inspect and apply for them. I keep finding places I want, but don't have the time or the money (cover two rents? You have to be joking!) to actually do anything about them and they're just taunting me.

God, I'm tired. And it's only 9.50 am on Tuesday. I'm going to be insane by Christmas.

Calm... Serenity Now

Rossi,

E-Mail Gerg about your iMac. He's got a Mac too, and likely has a bunch of things you can try with that ridiculous jerk-off fee of $165. I'd also suggest going to the forums on the 'Cult of Mac' off Wired. They have links to hundreds of Mac sites. Chances are some of them have trouble shooting, or people who might be willing to make a few suggestions to help get you up and running.

As for your Mom, she'll understand. She always has, so relax. Don't let the parents stress you out more than you need to. As for work, take a deep breath and move on. Things will all work out. If you're crazed and ready to eat human flesh, things generally will find a way to get worse.

Capice?

There isn't really a whole lot I can say to make things better, seeing as how... there isn't. But. Mums understand, and I know the Mum thing and *hugs* Take it easy.

Also, I got your cds. Thank you, darling, and I love you.

No. I love you, mate.

Despite everything, best wishes on behalf of your mom. Mine had similar surgery years ago and came out of it well. Here's hoping for the same on your side. Adios.
