One last post from Dex's place before Trisha and I head out to the airport.

The wedding yesterday was fun. And yes, there were deals made by Trisha's dad to secure extra red wine for us. *grins* We headed out early to catch my last Johnny Devil and the Screaming Demons gig, which was dedicated to me. All my favourite songs they play. *squees in a huge bout of fangirlishness* I'm going to miss those guys.

It's just Trisha and I now - Dex and JB have gone to work, and Mel is off with Johnny for a few days. It's strange, to think I won't be coming back here for a while.

Ten days in Vancouver to come, tho'. Lise and I look to be heading over to Vancouver Island on the weekend. It's going to be a blast. :)

Does that mean you did like them or you didn't? How can someone not like them when they play so well and have such great instrumentation?

I did not care for them. At all.

Bar bands are hardly my favorite to begin with. They played the sum total of _nothing_ I liked (I admit, my tastes are weird that way) and when I heard them, they were Not Impressing Me with orchestration, arrangement, or, well, anything musical.

Which is really weird, because when the frontman did the acoustic thing right before DexCon, I enjoyed that. Standard caveat applies about playing nothing that I liked.

Guitar, bass (I think), and a really stripped-down percussion section. Nothing all that exciting. Lacking a full kit hurt them fairly badly when I heard them play.
