The daystar, it burns!

Literally in my case. Got myself something of a sunburn today - shoulders, neck, face and a inch-wide strip across the bottom of my back where there was a gap between my tak top and my shorts.
Climbing at the gym in Altona today. Much easier to get to than Nunawading (still in Zone 1 for the train fare, for starters). Lots of various-level climbs, a nifty bouldering cave to keep Phil happy, and 60 foot walls for me. We spent a couple of hours climbing, then rode down to Williamstown for lunch.
According to Phil, Williamstown in a Cornish fishing village transplanted to Australia, only without the centuries-old buildings and Cornish people. We found this rather nice bakery-cafe that does really good vegetable pasties - and good sausage rolls, according to Phil - and sat outside for a while eating and chatting and resting before taking the bike path back to Port Melbourne. Which involved using a punt to cross the river under the Westgate Freeway, which was kind of cool. And riding through some really pretty areas of reclaimed marshland.
I've also been introduced to the gin and tonic as the conssumate summer drink, and we stopped for a couple at the Beach Hotel on Beaconsfield Parade on the way back. A necessary stop - way too many people on the bike path without actual bikes. *rolls eyes* Silly pedestrians. And the amusing thing? They tend to look at you like you're the one in the wrong as you dodge around them.
Phil ended up going down to the beach for more sun-worshipping, but I had laundry to do and the feeling I'd gotten a touch too much already, a suspiscion confirmed when I had a shower later and got to see the contrast. Including glove marks - I have tan down to my wrists, and less-tanned hands. *rolls eyes*
Still, it's been a really good day. Fresh air, exercise, good food... Yep, 's all good.
