Three wacky dreams for the price of one.

So, last night/this morning was obviously Merv Pumpkinhead pulling overtime for me, because I had not one, but three extremely vivid dreams.

Dream 1: I was looking at my teeth in the mirror and discovered I had cavities in all of them. This is your fault, Dex. ;)

Dream 2: I was in the Barrow St place in Brunswick, with Kielle and Bounce - Kielle was visiting, Bounce lived there, I think. I'd just finished writing this epic original story on the laptop and had handed it off to Kielle to proof read, and the Duran Duran song "Come Undone" was playing repetitively. Actually, that was the name of the story. Wish I could remember what it was about now.

Dream 3: I was at work, clerking for a bunch of Perin matters, when there was a ruckus in the courtroom (I was out in the foyer for some reason). A defendant was going absolutely crazy, and trying to get through the back door where the magistrate comes in. There was a lot of shouting, and then someone came back and told me the defendant was dead, and we'd have to hold off court until someone took away the body.

My brain is weird.

I think for a long time you didn't know who you were or what you wanted, and so you tended to latch onto those you admired. It seems to me now you're starting to find your way out of that, and find your own feet, and that's a good thing.

Lessee... Mel. Mels are... amazing, really. *grins* Seriously, you go out and you do what you want to do, and you always manage to give the impression you're having the time of your life doing it. I know that's not always the case, and you're one of the best people I know at hiding the crap under the whole 'I'm fine!' thing, but I still think you're one of the strongest and wisest people I know. Because you always manage to make me see when I'm being completely stupid, and you can tell me not-so-good things about myself and not have me go into throes of self-loathing. That's a rare talent. ;) You're perceptive, and have a great sense of humour, but you've also got a certain amount of... insecurity, I guess it is, that makes you afraid of long-term commitment. Possibly along the lines of not being able to keep the Melness up long term.

you know, I'm not going to name you in one word, because god if I don't hate these things - I always feel like i'm letting the team down by not saying something, and yet I sit there thinking, 'uh?'

I do find it interesting which words certain people picked - it almost says more about who answered than you. I'm going to go back and check other people's posts to see if this holds true for other people, or just the ones we know.

ps: feel free to tell me anything, but like, since I didn't say shit, it's really not necessary. :D

I think sometimes you're lacking in a certain connection to other people. It's not communication per se - you're an excellent listener, and you did me a lot of good in that regard. But there's a certain... self-absorption that sometimes comes across as you being rude, or curt. But you're also generous and can empathise with other people's pain, and that's worth a lot. You're also a great photographer. :)

You've come so far. When I first came online, you were, to put it frankly, a git. Loud-mouthed and opinionated and didn't give a shit for other people's feelings, which is always a black note in my book. I hate bullies. ;) But then, like Dex, I met you in person and realised there was a vast difference between the Matt I'd seen online, and the Matt I had a drink with and chatted to. Over the years, that difference has reduced to the point you're actually a pretty decent guy, on and offline. You still have a certain tendency towards tactlessness, but that's where we're different and always will be, I think. I think too much of other people's feelings sometimes, and sometimes you too little. But I have to say I really admire you, especially what you're doing at the moment, moving to a completely different state, quitting your job, the whole thing, in order to be with your family when you feel they need you. It takes a certain sort of courage to do something like that, and courage you have in spades. :)

Phil and I have talked about this, about friends you can have and not really talk to that often, but when you do, it's like it's only been a couple of days since you last did. You're one of those. Friend for life, no matter how slack I get.

See, I think that is a nfity dream - bits of paper with instructions on dealing with people? *grins* I could so get analyst on your arse. ;)

You're in transition. Basically you're doing and experiencing now what took me another ten-fifteen years to get around to doing because I was stupid and got involved heavily with someone in my first year of uni. In you I see a lot of potential being actualised.

You're still gaining confidence, and learning to trust people, since you've had bad experiences before with friends, and the whole friends leaving you thing is a HUGE button for you. But you're also not afraid to take the chance, and that's what's going to give you the rewards in the end. You're also strong, incredibly so, even tho' you don't see it, and you don't believe us when we tell you so. ;) And because of this, you're harder on yourself than sometimes you should be - you hate to admit limits of any kind, because that doesn't fit in with what you want from life, even though unfortunately you do have some at the moment. The day you don't? Look out world. :)

I'm still getting to know you, and unlike pretty much everyone else who has replied to this so far, I haven't met you in person, so I may be a bit off here. ;) Fair warning.

You strike me as someone finding her centre after a period of difficulty. You're very aware of how you and others react to things, although sometimes you take things more personally than you want to - I get the impression it's something you're trying to reduce, or at least avoid in certain situations. You've got a sense of the absurd that's a lot of fun and very infectious, and while you stand up for yourself when you feel it's important, you do try and come to solutions to problems that accomodate everyone involved. It's not always possible, but you try. ;)

I think I'm going to echo Matt a bit here. ;)

People are important to you, and that's a good thing, but not when you rely on them to validate your existance. You're learning that gradually as you gain confidence in yourself - it's a sign of poor self-confidence that you have to have other people tell you you're a decent person. I think now you've gotten the school stuff successfully completed and other medical issues being addressed, you're going to come along in leaps and bounds, as long as you remember you are important, not because of what you do/are for the people around you, but what you are in yourself. You've got a great sense of humour that needs to be let out more, and I think once you finally move out of the family home and start to establish an identity as an individual we'll see a much more confident, less needy Twiller, the guy who is sometimes in evidence now.

You're moving from one identity (that of your parents' daughter, living at home and abiding by their lack-of-rules) to that of Bounce the adult and individual. You're still adapting, hence transition.

It's taken me a while to get to this since the Dex is a complicated individual, at least the one in my head is. Mainly because there's two of you, like Matt. There's Dex, who everyone sees at cons and online, the host, the smartarse, the drunken rogue. Then there's Bryant, who's not as cocky or confident sometimes, but who, on the whole, is the one I prefer to know. Because while Dex can be fun, there's always a sense of falseness to the attitude, a sense of being played. Dex is a shell protecting Bryant, and that I understand, just not that you need to use the shell with me.

You drive me nuts and I love you to death. I think that covers it.

You're my Raphie-Sis. The one who makes me laugh by sending me weird links about scary food, who gives me virtual hugs (and real ones) when I need them, and who lets me bully her however gently into exercising more and eating better. ;) If I had a younger sister, it would be like our friendship, although with less arguing over who's taking up the shower for too long.

Arg, hard for you to come up with one word, a lot harder for me to say what I think of you since all of our dealings have been through Subreality RRs. ;)

That being said, you strike me as one of the more stable and down-to-earth ficcers out there. I've never really seen you involved in the screaming matches that have gone on, and you always took whatever Jess threw at you in RRs in stride. Good sense of humour and sense of the absurd. Reliable.
