deathpixie: (le tour)

So, back on the bike this week, after a couple of weeks of blah-induced laziness. And I have to say, I've missed it. Something about getting the blood flowing and the body working, and the whole synchronicity you get going between bike and person... Especially when you've got a bike that's running well, and is perfectly fitted to you, and you know its quirks and habits and what it likes and what it doesn't...

Hmm, I'm having a significant moment over a machine. Don't mind me.

The ride home is especially nice. The first five minutes are spent in rush-hour traffic, which isn't fun, but then I hit the bike path that runs along and Sandridge Light Rail line, and it's pretty cruisy riding from there. And pretty, too - like most former rail lines, there's parks all along, with a tunnel of old elm trees on one section, and a native plant garden along another.

Then I hit the foreshore path, starting where the Spirit of Tasmania leaves and ending up in St Kilda. There's a dedicated cycle/rollerblader path (although some pedestrians use it, at their own risk, silly people), and while I never get a lot of speed up, it's a good ride. Beach to my right, with the waves of Port Phillip Bay rolling in. Palm trees lining the path. No cars trying to kill me. *grins* I get a thinking done on that part, usually XP-plotting wise.

And another good thing about working at Coroner's? I get to use that path on the way in as well, since it's the easiest way into where I need to go. So two nice rides in one day, whee!

It could be done! I worked it all out once! Really!

I mean, who needs a kitchen anyway?
