deathpixie: (vegemite toast)

Huge amounts of work done today. I'm certainly earning my keep. *grins* And Rick the boss gave me another 'special care' finding to write today. *egoboost*

Now, as a spot of randomness and self-absorption, a meme about me!

~What are the five things you like about your body and why?~

Eyes: They're large and expressive and they're a nifty colour. Well, colours - they're hazel, and switch from green to brown to sometimes blue-green if the light's right.

Strength: For someone my size, I'm strong. All those years of working on the farm as a teen, and then doing martial arts, I guess.

Shoulders and neck: I look damn good in a tank top - nicely toned without being ovrly bony or flabby. I like my collarbones.

Skin: I tan well, and I heal fast. And my skin's naturally soft and smooth without having to use moisturiser, much to my mother's disgust. *grins*

Youthfulness: I don't look my age. At all. I've had co-workers not believe me when I tell them how old I am, and had to show them ID to prove it. Sometimes I wonder about the age myself...

~What are the five things you like about your character/personality and why?~

Friendliness: I like people. I get on well with them, for the most part. I'm fully capable of turning around and striking up a conversation in a pub or a laundrette or the supermarket and spending the next half hour making a new friend. Keeping them is another matter. *wry*

Passion: I get enthused by things. All sorts of things. And I like to share my enthusiasm. And frequently it's contagious, and the people around me get all enthused too, and then we're having loud, passionate conversations about life, the universe and everything. It also is reflected in the way I interact with people - I'm a bit more cautious about who gets let into the inner circle, so to speak, but once someone's there, they're a friend for life. I believe in people. Unless they do a series of really, really stupid and hurtful things.

Stubborness: Sometimes this is a good thing, sometimes it isn't, but I don't give up on things that easily. If they're good things, it's a trait I like. ;)

Organisational skills: Okay, this is starting to sound like a job application, but seriously, I'm proud of my ability to organise and run things and adapt to sudden changes. It's come in handy in more parts of my life than I'll ever be able to count, and while it sometimes comes off as being anal or bossy, I do get things done and done well.

Humour: I have a wry, quirky sense of humour and a sense of the absurd in the world around me. It keeps me sane.

~Top five new songs you've heard in the past month?~

Gah, was trying to think of actual songs and coming up blank, so I'll give five bands/albums. Not actually new, but new to me:

Stereophonics.

Coldplay X&Y.

The New Radicals.

The Lucksmiths - latest album, whatever it's called. They're been playing the single on JJJ lately.

Matt and Paul down at the Elephant and Wheelbarrow on Sundays. ;)

~Top five "little things" or subtleties about your preferred form of entertainment that you enjoy? ~

Cycling: the sensation of going around a series of corners, shifting your weight and feeling the bike respond to that, the wind on your face and everything a moment of synchronicity.

Movies: when directors trick me. I'm very good at plots, and guessing them, and every so often there's a sneaky little play that fools me completely.

Escrima: the rhythmic clacking of sticks against each other when you're doing a partner drill with someone of equal skill and everything just clicks.

Writing: those starburst moments when a plot point just hits me out of the blue, solving all the problems I'd been having. Usually happens on the bike during the ride home.

RPG: The interconnectedness. The way one plot cascades into several others, and everyone gets something out of it. The way characters play off each other and open whole new areas of characterisation you hadn't thought of.

And now I'm goign to sign off this one last completed file, and then I'm off to meet people at the pub. See you in a few days. :D

It sounds like you should be moving to Baltimore not Canada. I know a tabletop group that has stuff like that happen all the time. Assuming of course the players realize it. (Sometimes they don't.)
