deathpixie: (snow)

So, last night I spent at Mindy's place, helping her decorate her Christmas tree as I was feeling a distinct lack of Christmas, and as she headed off to work this morning, I walked home so I could shower and get my work gear etc. Walking past the funeral home with the electronic clock and temperature display, I noticed something.

It was -14 degrees Celcius.

Yep, that's right. Minus fourteen.

Good thing I was all rugged up. *grins* It's going to be like this until Thursday, when it warms up a bit and we get snow again. 'Cause the thing is, it's too cold for actual snow at this point.

As I was heading off for the gym in the building across the parking lot, I noticed it was -12, so I decided to put on a sweater.

*laughs* Yeah, nah. I had this wonderful taste of that sort of cold, back when I was working at Maccas and kept getting to tidy up and clean out the walk-in freezer in nothing but a t-shirt. I'd rather not deal with it if there's wind and things involved in it as well, you know?

This might be a strange question, because I'm in Manchester and the outside is like a freezer.

But why did you go to Canada again?

... is it wrong that I think -14C is almost sorta warm for winter? You haven't lived until it's -40C with the windchill. (Word of advice: don't wander around outside at 3am, in February;). Just invest in the woolliest scarf you can find.

Dude, you won't be a wuss soon -- you actually get used to it. (Provided you invest in a woolly scarf;).

Now that makes me miss Canada. Y'know, "It's not warm enough to snow yet." Hope you're keeping warm.
