deathpixieYes, the Rossi is still with you. Sorta. Actually, I'm with Lise, in Vancouver, which has been a most excellent, although abbreviated, time. Vancouver is beautiful - smaller than I had imagined, but all mountains and estuaries and lots and lots of green.
Just a brief post from me, since I should go have a shower and get dressed sometime soon. I'm flying out this evening, and arriving back home on the 18th (yes, I lose a day). I've arranged lunch with Yasmin and Andraste - I haven't had time to develop my photos, unfortunately (not that there's many!), but I have plenty to tell any way. Provided I can remember it all. *grins*
The Dexcon reports in various LJs have been very amusing. Extending the feeling of the Con, as it were. And it was a very good feeling to have. I met people I've been "talking" to for a couple of years now, people I've virtually hugged and cuddled and offered words of advice and comfort too, and gotten support and caring from, and found they were just as wonderful in real life as they are online. Except if they have to walk anywhere. *ducks* It's not the sight-seeing or the drinking or the dressing up for the formal that makes Dexcon, it's the opportunity to meet people, talk with them, have them laugh at your Matrix jokes without an explanation. With Dexcon dex has done a great thing, and he should feel proud. And we should feel grateful, and buy him many drinks, because I've seen first-hand the stress he goes through for this thing, giving up time and money to organise it. He genuinely cares about the fanfic community, and the ulcers he gives himself orgainising this thing (and anyone who has organised fic gatherings knows how hard it is to organise the terminally disorganised) is proff of that. Be sure to give him a hug next time you see him.
I'll probably do my own "Things I Remember About Dexcon" post later, once I get home to my own computer. Other people's keyboards feel strange. I'll see you in a couple of days. :)
