Help Wanted
Mar. 23rd, 2006 03:08 pmSo, I want to edit the user info of a couple of my journals and make everything all nice and shiny and on one embed an image. Only, I don't have the slightest clue on how to do that. Someone willing to either a) tutor a complete techno-nong in the Ways of the Formatting, or b) rough up a basic version and give me enough pointers to adjust it or c) let me blatantly copy of you?
Reward in the form of undying gratitude.
Also, the icon frenzy continues - added another seven to my personal account and finished uploading the ones I made last night to the other. Think I'll give it a rest for a while, tho' - Brittney wasn't at all happy with me last night.

You might need an image host if you don't have one already, photobucket is very easy to use.

Date: 2006-03-24 02:40 am (UTC)If yes:
1.) Upload said picture to a server somewhere. LJ scrapbook, photobucket, Lise, wherever. ;)
2.) Copy this into your user info: <img src="IMAGE URL HERE KEEP THE QUOTES" alt="BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF IMAGE" align="center">
3.) Copy the URL of image into the IMGE URL HERE...bit. Add a description of the image where directd (not strictly necessary, but it's a Good Thing to do for those who use page readers and whatnot. Accessibility go!)
4.) The align="center" bit centers the image. You can take it out if you want. :)
5.) Troubleshooting: If you see ampersands instead of 'greater than' and 'less than' angled brackets at the ends of the bit of coden (which may show up in the emailed comment but should look right on the screen) replace them with brackets when copying the code. If I put the brackets in proper, the code wouldn't show up in the comment (thinking it was actual code and not an example,) so I have to use the character codes for them. :) Hopefully you won't have to try to understand this one because I barely understand it myself and i wrote it.
That should cover that. If I misunderstood, I apologise. :)
If you want to change your comment links and what have you, go here:
http://www.livejournal.com/customize/
and pick 'Change individual Settings.' You may have to pick out an S2 style. And like, if you pick out a style like mine and want to have links to pages you hit frequently down the side you'd edit it from 'Links List' which is on the same page.
And that's about as fancy as I get with my LJ because otherwise you have to get into the LJ code and I always mess something up when I do that. ;)
