Oooh, SHINY!!!
Sep. 27th, 2001 10:16 pmGuess what! Guess what, guess what, guess what?
I GOT MY iBOOK!!!
It turned out that the day-long contest I was clerking for today couldn't go ahead as the prosecutor was sick, so I came home at 12 and will go in again tomorrow morning for a half-day of another case... Anyhoo, BRM asked me if I wanted to go back over to Albury (for the third time!) to get my computer. The day before I'd maade another irate phone call to my credit card company after another unsuccessful attempt, and had my card limited expanded by an very apologetic employee. So off we went, after me making another "making sure" phone call to be absolutely positive the credit was there. I'm sure the guy at the shop was starting to think I was some kind of scammer.
But third time was the charm, it seems, and I am now the proud and happy owner of an extremely shiny new iBook computer. With a CD burner (which I've already used *grins*) and DVD player and a 56.6K internal modem (which shits all over the 28.8K clunker I have on Tosh) and more memory than you can poke a stick at. I don't have much on this at the moment - I still have to load Word and a few other things on here, plus transfer my address book and bookmarks and various document files - but there's plenty of room for everything. And it's so fast!
I think I'm in love. ;)
Sad, that a simple (yet very expensive) material possession is enough to raise me from my funk.
But it's so SHINY!
