At last!

Funny, it never rains but it pours...

I got a call last week from Legal Aid, inviting me to interview for the position I applied for as civil litigation assistant. That's for this Wednesday, at 1:30 pm.

Today, Natasha comes up to me and invites me to interview for the position I put the application for back in May. September 19, 10:30am.

Finally some progress, after I bit the bullet and decided to start applying elsewhere again. Here's hoping all goes well - I really want to keep this job, but if the Legal Aid one pays more, I'm taking it.

Some good news after a rather insane morning. Poor Jane, back from vacation one day and she has a four-five hour drive ahead of her to get to Sudbury for a case tomorrow.

And that's how it always is. After two months of not hearing anything after I graduated, I had four interviews in a row. Then after another six weeks of waiting for my paperwork at Walter Reed to get through, I was ready to start looking again and only then got my official offer. Pain in the ass.

Also, what size shoes are you? And jacket/shirt for that matter?

Fix up dress for the interview next week? That one deserves me trying harder. ;) I also have a hemming job for you, if you'd be so kind? Pair of culottes QB gave me need a couple of inches taken off.

Um. *looks at bottom of shoe* 8 and a half shoe, Canadian size 10 for shirts? Or do you need actual inches? 'Cause you might need to measure for that. ;)

That's not a problem at all. Would you like me to come over after class (last one ends at six, I think) and do those up for tomorrow, or should I come over a little early to measure and take them home or...? I'm open for whatever.

Size 10? Sweetie, I'm size 12; I'm fair certain that we could fit two of you in a 10. Are you wearing too big of clothes again? I swear, I will come after you...

(I'll take you to "my" thrift shop and make you try on a billion things, if you don't mind.)

Yeah, oddly enough, it's different, just because people are not fully proportionate, you know? We'll get you to try things on, yes.

I've got two interviews, one tomorrow and one next Wednesday, so I'll save the dress for next Wednesday and wear something else tomorrow. Since the next Wednesday one is the one I really want (it's the job where I am now), I'll do the extra nice clothes that day. ;)

Trying on tends to work, yeah. Although, we're looking at October before I'm solvent in any way again. :P After last night's effort, I'm down to my last $40 again. :P However, I do want to do the clothes shopping at some point with someone who knows what looks good - I have no clue half the time.

Oh, there were efforts? What kind of efforts? And of course we'd do it by thrift, where jackets cost ten bucks instead of eighty. Honestly, what kind of frugal fashionista do you think I am?

Nah, the culottes are denim - not work clothes at all. ;) So no rush on those, really, except for 'while there's still warmish weather'.

Went to the Griffin to catch the end of the Jays game, they lost horribly in the last innings and so there was drinking. *wry*

Ahh... got it. Then yeah, I'll come over, get you to put some stuff on, stick some pins in you (or the clothes, whatever) and take them home to work on, if you don't mind. Machine is a bit quicker, unless it's a blind hem and... nevermind, rambling.

How did it get to be five? Jeez. Uh, let me know if you'd like me around tonight and when? I'll probably check my email again by six; if earlier, phone.
