I had a meeting at 9:30 this morning that basically established our new person coming in to replace Alvin while he's away, and thus required the re-assigning of not just his cases, but those of James' that were clashing as well. I've spent the day - the whole day, mind - working on spreadsheets, transferring files, shifting files from office to office, removing the remainder of Alvin's old matters, making sure all the calendars I have access to are up to date, notifying Investigations of the changes, working on the new counsel rotation schedule for Investigations attendance...
Busy day. I realised around 3 I hadn't eaten lunch - hadn't eaten anything, in fact, since a tub of yoghurt around 11 that was supposed to be breakfast. Luckily I had a pear sitting on my desk from yesterday's two, and my container of trail mix (I nearly typed "trial mix", which would be funny considering what I do!). But yeah, I think grabbing a veggie dog from the vendor outside work might be a good idea, if I don't want to be one of those annoying medical emergencies on the train going home when I pass out.
Still, I've had a good, productive day. Jane's back, and hugely impressed by how I've kept everything organised. Rebecca is starting to remember to tell me stuff. And I have no idea about the new person yet, but I sent her an email today saying hi and letting her know who I was, so go me for the proactive. This week is definitely something for the performance review. ;)
