Another survey! Yay! *watches everyone flee for the hills* Hmm, maybe it was something I said?
A - Age: 31 - like you guys haven't heard me whinge about that endlessly already.
B - Best Friends: Mel, Yasmin, Seraph, Dex, Shai, Epona, Mitai, Oberon, Falstaff, Dyce... I'll stop there or I'll be here all day.
C - Choice of Meat: *snorts* None of the above, unless it's fishy.
D - Dream Date: Any? *grins* Alright, no more feeling sorry for myself. Gads, it's been so long since I had one of these... Dinner, maybe a movie, perhaps a couple of drinks and a game of pool. Nookie. Lots of nookie. *grins again* Spending the next day in bed 'cause neither of us have to be anywhere. Brekkie in bed.
E - Exciting Adventure: Actually done; a year in Japan as an exchange student when I was fifteen/sixteen; my first real rock climbing on Mt Arapalies with a multi-stage climb; going to the US as a camp counsellor for four months; various cycling and bushwalking trips; two Dexcons. Want to do; six months in Europe, Canada and the US, travelling around, seeing people and places; hiking in the Canadian Rockies, maybe some canoeing if I can find someone to go with; cycle around various parts of Europe.
F - Favorite Food: BRM's risotto, which I can't make to save myself.
G - Greatest Accomplishment: Getting my black belt in karate. Finishing my Honours degree and getting a high B on my thesis (after effectively rewriting it in three weeks). Last year's CBFFAs.
H - Happiest Day of Your Life: The first date I ever had with BRM.
I - Interests: There's the ones that don't involve movement - writing, reading, movies, chatting - and the ones that do - cycling, karate, climbing (when I can!), karate and escrima, swimming. And the ideological ones - politics, environmentalism, that sort of thing.
J - Joke: My old standy-by; don't worry if you don't get it, it's very Aussie. ;)
Q: How did Harold Holt disappear?
A: It was a dingo in a wetsuit.
K - Kool-Aid: You mean that powder stuff that is entirely made up of sugar and chemicals? Ew. Give me some home-made lime cordial any day.
L - Love: It exists. I'd like to find it again. But I'm not going to curl up and die if I don't.
M - Most Valued Possession: It's a toss-up between the iBook and my bike. The bike and I have a lot of history. ;)
N - Name: Joanne at work. Jo to my friends. Rossi to my 'special' friends. ;)
O - Outfit You Love: Every-day, my most worn pair of jeans and my blue lizard shirt or my maroon Kathmandu shorts and red "Old Navy" t-shirt. Formal, my velvety LBD (little black dress) and the black suede heels.
P - Pizza Toppings: I Carusi's caramelised onion, potato and rosemary with cheese. But it has to be from I Carusi.
Q - Question Asked To You the Most: "Is there a JP here?", with "What time will my case be on?" a close second.
R - Radio Station: Triple J, or Triple R on the webcast.
S - Sport: What the "Interests" section didn't clue you in? To watch, cycling, Aussie Rules football, any martial art if I can find it.To do, well, you already know what I do.
T - Television Show: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Bill, Babylon 5.
U - Umbrella in the rain?: I'm more of a raincoat person - I have my Gortex coat that BRM gave me a couple of Christmasses ago that I use every winter. Except if I'm cycling, in which case I have my rain jacket that is losing its proofness.
V - Video: Music videos I couldn't tell you - I don't do music video shows because the music is generally poppy crap. Movie-videos, that's easy. Bladerunner, which I own and have watched several times. And The Maxx, which I found recently and love to the point of getting fic ideas.
W – Winter: The thing about winter is that you can always put more clothes on if you're cold. But for cyclists, it sucks. Riding in the rain? Bleah. But I have been told we have not the real winter here.
X - X-rays recently?: Not in the last ten years, I don't think. Got my wrist X-rayed after I got hit by a car in my first year of cycling in Melbourne (1989). Had an ultrasound on my kidneys last January after a nasty and rapid kidney infection.
Y - Year Born: 1970
Z - Zodiac Sign: Taurus. Very much so - stubborn and pleasure-loving. ;)

Date: 2001-11-02 07:46 pm (UTC)Actually, The Bill is pretty popular over here - I've been watching it for mazny years. You'd think after sitting in a court all day the last thing I would want to do is watch a cop show, but I find its realism refreshing. *grins* And who can resist Burnside?

Date: 2001-11-03 03:47 am (UTC)Ah, I shouldn't be so judgemental. There are far worse things on TV. You could be a fan of Brookie... And, y'know, at least you're not getting your characterisation from Eastenders! (Which I do actually guiltily watch every now and then...)

Date: 2001-11-03 04:53 pm (UTC)There are, especially when you consider that free-to-air TV constitutes mainly lame American sitcoms, "reality" shows like Survivor and Chains of Love (don't ask, seriously, don't even think about asking) and local soap operas. The ABC and SBS (the national broadcaster and the foreign-language channels respectively) are the only oases in a desert of truly bad TV. The ABC shows a lot of Brit stuff (like Red Dwarf, whoo!) and SBS has a great news service, Hong Kong action films and anime, and Going Home, a local show about a bunch of commuters on thier nightly train home.
So, considering the rest of the choices, The Bill ain't that bad at all. ;)

I'm as surprised as a dingo in a paddock full of didgeridooAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!
:: Rossie beats Ann to death with a stick ::
Traditional Aussie Curse for cheeky Americans. ;)
