deathpixie: (the morning after)

So, like many of my friendslist, we in Toronto have The Snow today. Unlike many of my friendslist, however, this means neither a day off or a chance to sleep in. Ah, such is the power of the TTC. We're expecting 10-15 cm of the white stuff over the next day or so. Walking from the subway to work was like walking through a snowglobe.

I have to admit, of all the types of snow, today's is my favourite. Thick, fluffy flakes that swirl around, a covering of at least a couple of cm on the ground of crisp, white snow that you can walk through without slipping and without having to tip toe through slush. Of course, it'll be slush again by the time I finish work since that's what happens downtown with all the pedestrians and the salt on the pavements, but for this morning, the walk was fun.

(Although, the way it's still coming down out there, it's entirely possible it'll still be piling up on the sidewalks by the time I'm done.)

And the other side of the snow is that Jane isn't coming in today after all - the roads are too bad. So I get to send three weeks worth of case files to her, whee!

I was going to hit the gym today but I realize that I've lifted too much and strained my neck the other day. SO im going to take one more day off for break and then go in. But all your talk of snow makes me want to go out anyways.
