deathpixieSlight break in the weather - last night it was cool enough to use the doona again (although I will switch it for a plain blanket today), and I'm sitting here quite comfortably without having to put the fan on. I can take hot weather during the day, but only if I get the chance to sleep at night. So the change is a welcome relief.
Lots of talk on the LJs about holiday-season blues, which of course has gotten me thinking about the holiday season. Normally I love Christmas, but this year I find I'm lacking in 'thuse. As in enthusiasm. Partly due to money worries - I'm living off the credit card this week, erk - and partly because I haven't had time to get into the mood. I'm still recovering from AussieCon and beyond, my sleep cycle being screwed seven ways from Sunday (slept at 2am last night, got up at 9.30), and trying to throw off the effects of a kidney infection and a course of anti-biotics (I won't give you the gory details). And drinking way too much, which has the added effect of lowering my mood when I'm alone. Yes, boys and girls, alcohol is a depressant. It's not really anything to do with being single, or family problems, just a general feeling of "Oh, bugger, Christmas already?"
I am looking forward to New Years, tho'. Seeing Melancamp and the Ds and Amanda up in sunny Brisbane... yes, this is something to focus on. Oh, and Mel? I seem to recal a post in your LJ about drool-inducing backrubs. I believe I owe you several, so better lay out the towel for drool-soakage. ;)
