It's been a week...

deathpixieIt's been something of a busy week for me at work, which is becoming too regular for my tastes - I thought us public servants were supposed to goof off all day? Yesterday in particular was a bitch-kitty - Markham Road's "excellent" staff managed to lose two motions that we filed personally in April for hearing on the 20th, which means Jane had a wasted trip to Toronto and that I have to try and wrangle a new date and re-serve and re-file. Once I have the paperwork ready, I'll be calling the coordinator and putting her on alert that it's coming, that's for sure.
I wouldn't mind so much - mistakes happen, after all - if this wasn't becoming a pattern for Markham Road. Errors, bad paperwork, ignoring phone messages... yeah, there's a reason I go through Centre Ave for my dates now. Apart from the cute-sounding guy on the phone who thinks I'm awesome. ;)
Long weekend coming up - the May 2-4, or Victoria Day. No specific plans - Johnny had mentioned a BBQ at his place, but I haven't heard anything else since - but I don't mind so much. Time to get the patio set up, get the place cleaned in the wake of new furniture coming in and old furniture being rearranged, finish sorting out my room again. Plus sleep, which is all-important lately for some reason. Tonight I'm going to my first Meetup.com event with NAWG - Not A Writing Group. I'm a bit nervous, but given I can't hide behind neuroses forever and everyone keeps telling me how brave I am in general, I'm not going to chicken out.
No word yet on early finishing - I'm not fussed either way, since I have Alvin here and I'd have to stay any way, plus there's that night out that's easier to get to from work. Still, it'd be handy to leave at 3 or 4 and go down to the Y.
Nothing really interesting from me - it's just work, sleep, XP and cats lately.
