Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.

Day Six: Five people who mean a lot to you (in no order whatsoever).

Caveat: I'm going to omit a lot of people who are important to me, because it says five, not five dozen. ;)
1) [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. This one's kind of a no-brainer, if you know me at all. Dex is someone who has stood by me over the years, good and bad. He's made me laugh when I needed to, and let me cry on him when I needed to do that too. He's one of the few people who can kick me in the pants and get me to start thinking again without me taking it personally and the fact we've lived together for five years, through depression, unemployment, money issues, leaking ceilings and psychotic kittens, without killing each other says a lot; I honestly would not have survived the past five years without him. And I'd better stop, before I blow his Internet image of being a conniving, controlling bastard with the morals of an alley cat. ;)
2) My Aussie crew. Okay, I'm cheating, but dammit, five isn't enough and it's my meme and I'll cheat if I want to! [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. You were my support network when I was stuck in Wodonga and I can't express how much I love you guys for everything you've done for me over the years. I miss you all like crazy - I love living in Canada, but I really do miss hanging out with you, or even just communicating regularly. I miss the way Amanda and I can finish each other's sentences and the way she makes me feel like I can be anyone I want to. I miss Mel and my five hours long phone calls with red wine and dishes in the background (and dropping the phone in the sink!) and her ability to make me laugh even when I'm sobbing. I miss Seraph and her optimism and the way she pedals her feet when you tickle her. I miss Phil and his aura of calm and his amiability, even when listening to me describe my day at Coroner's (poor Phil, he had to put up with so much from me!). And I miss Bounce/Lisa, with her stunningingly creative mind and quick wit and wicked sense of humour.
3) Mindy and Johnny. Part of my Canadian support network (and yes, there are others, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and Bernard and Greg and Rob and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]), I'm naming these two because they were here from the start. I've known them just a little bit less than I've known Dex, and from the start, they've made me feel special. I always feel loved when I'm with them and I value their creativity and their intelligence and their generosity; I feel lucky to be counted as their friend.
4) [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] I don't know what I would have done over the past few years without Jen. She has the ability to listen without judging, and then calm me down with just a few sentences. We know each other's strengths and we know each other's weaknesses and that makes us able to understand each other even through email. Her visits are always a bright point to our life here in Bloor West. :)
5) My XP folks. Again, I'm doing a bundle, because there's a lot of people who are important and need that recognised. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] has been a rock, especially in the poxst-Nute days, doing all the technical work needed for the game and encouraging people to chatter and bond over the mailing list. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], who cares more deeply for people than most and who never minds when I poke him at the last minute to borrow a character for a plot hole fix. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] who has been a friend since I first joined and whose generosity always impressed me. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], who did a huge amount of graphics work in creating the [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] character cards. Aura, Ryan, Nat, Cai, Craig, Nic and Mack, who came in later but who have really made their mark and who have kept things afloat when we've floundered a bit in the past year. But really, all the XP folks, who have gone past the usual shallow rpg relationships and become friends. I love you guys.
There's those who have been missed - family, especially, but other friends. You're all important to me, and I thank all of you for your love, your companionship, your loyalty and your help through the years. I shouldn't need a meme to say it, but my life would be very empty without you all.
