Moving update

So, the weekend was spent hauling stuff from the two apartments to the house. I am covered in scratches and bruises and my back and hip joints are threatening a strike. But, I have a bedroom and the kits are relocated. They're spending the next few days restricted to my room/my bathroom/the laundry part of the basement for now, until they settle in, then once we've cleared the rec room of the box maze a bit and got the TV etc. set up down there, we'll be expanding their horizons.
I've never moved house with pets before. It's heartbreaking to see them so freaked out, especially Spike, who spent the first two days hiding behind the dryer, only coming out at night time when it was 'safe'. He did come out to say good morning today, at least, and even ventured out into the rec room while I was getting dressed (my closet is in the rec room!). Angel is settling in a lot faster - he wanders around the room making little mews to test the acoustics.
There's been a few teething problems, the results of a house that's been closed up for a few months. We had to work out how to turn on the gas hot water heater and how to use the dryer, plus the jacuzzi tub in my bathroom is being stubborn about working and last night I discovered a minor leak near the cupboard I was packing. :( The garage door opener has also decided it doesn't want to work any more, either. But! Given the rapid response times and apologies from Mike, the elderly co-owner, these ought to be fixed pretty quickly and I'm less worried than I would have been at the other place.
Bell is coming to hook up the phone, television and internet on Wednesday, so no access apart from work and the phone until then. And since work blocks certain sites like Facebook, my Words With Friends games might slow down a bit. ;)
Photos to come, also when the Internet is back up. But I have good feelings about this place. :)
