Ah, yes, the perils of drinking with karate buddies. Especially Adam and Ben, who are well-qualified to be Brothers Drunk. I didn't end up back where I was staying last night, instead ending up being deposited at Adam's place (where Ben's staying as well) and woke late. Had to dash to make it to Yasmin's, which probably accounts for the state I was in by the time I got there - hangovers don't make for much in the way of dashing.

Bloody shots - if I'd stuck to beer I'd have been fine.

But I managed to pull myself together enough to go down to Brunsiwick Street with Yasmin for lunch at my beloved Veggie Bar (happiness is a vegetarian dim sim), and then she proceeded to turn my already soft brian into total mush with Revolutionary Girl Utena. Talk about being coy - what's with all the lesbian hints in this thing and then not delivering a smooch? ;)

Any way, I've got to go call Wodnermouse and arrange dinner plans. Hopefully I'll have time to sleep first - I'm totally wrecked.

Keep watching. I want to see if I can hear your head explode from here when you watch the final episode. *EG* Hint: if you're pressed for time, skip the whole Black Rose "season" -- it's a complete waste. Pretty, but pointless.

You should know the answer to this by now. Do you *ever* get more than subtext in movie Utena???
As for the Black Rose saga, it actually has very important thematic ties to the rest of the series. These duels are about more than just revolution. Pay close attention to the last episode of the first season, then think carefully about the purpose of the Black Rose duels when you get to them.
