It's been a while, but somehow yesterday I started the beginnings of a tension headache (probably something I did to my neck during the cleaning and packing binge). Then I went to the Elephant with Phil (the band learned the Whitlams! And the guy singing it likes them now! Ha!), which was a lot of fun, drank a little too much, which was also fun at the time, and came home and passed out. Which turned out to not be fun since I managed to exacerbate the tension headache (probably with teeth grinding, which is what I do when I'm not sleeping well), and I woke up to feel like the entire left side of my head is falling off. I've taken a couple of Neurophen and called in sick to work, and the pain's receeded some (although I ask you, how do you get a headache in your cheekbone?), but yeah. Ow. Haven't done this for a while.
And before someone is a smart arse and points out I could just be hungover, I'll mention there's a definite difference in the headache. Hangover headaches are more generalised, focussing mainly in the large band across the forehead. Tension headaches go for the whole half of your head and feel like someone's dissecting you with a sharp knife. And weird things hurt, like cheekbones and ears. Plus it gets worse with sleeping, not better. I'm just glad I don't get them more often, tho' it does mean I have to be picky about my pillows. Neck support is a good thing.
