...but then again, I like "legal" type humour. Strange but true laws:

*In Alaska it is forbidden to push a moose out of a plane in motion.

*In Alabama it is illegal for a driver to be blindfolded while operating a vehicle.

*In California it is illegal to set a mousetrap without a hunting license.

*In West Virginia it is illegal to let your horse fall asleep in the airport.

*In Florida it is Illegal for single, divorced, or widowed women to parachute on Sunday afternoons.

*In Maine it is Illegal to bite the landlord, no matter how much he deserves it.

*In Kentucky "No female shall appear in a bathing suit on any highway within this state unless she be escorted by at least two officers or unless she be armed with a club."

*In British Columbia it is illegal to kill a sasquatch.

*In Guelph the city is classified as a no-pee zone.

*In Toronto you can't drag a dead horse down Yonge St. on a Sunday.

*In Montréal you may not park a car in such a way that it is blocking your own driveway.

*In Alberta it is illegal to set fire to the wooden leg of a wooden legged man

*In England any boy under the age of 10 may not see a naked mannequin.

*In Scotland it is illegal to be a drunk in possession of a cow

*In Australia a life sentence is 200 years.

*In France, no pig may be addressed as Napoleon by its owner.

*Italy: It is illegal to practice the profession of being a fraud.

*In Thailand, no one may step on any of the nation's currency.

*In Korea the eating of stray cats is illegal.

*In Singapore the sale of bubblegum is prohibited.

In British Columbia it is illegal to kill a sasquatch.

Well, it's a good thing Gerg behaved himself on your Walkabout, then.

Singapore has a lot of weird laws, including those that are weird only in context (illegal to pee in elevators, illegal to smoke in just about every public area), but the chewing gum thing keeps coming up.

We don't like the restriction, but it's not exactly the sort of thing that's worth the cost and effort of protesting.

What I took to be the tipping point was when gum was stuck on the subway train doors, preventing them from opening properly and thus causing very much money in delays and inconveniences. Also, by the time the law was passed, this had happened several times.

It may or may not be a case of the few ruining it for the many. Or babies and bathwater, I'm not sure which.

In Korea the eating of stray cats is illegal.

So... does that mean it's legal to eat cats that have owners?

At least at one time, in Sweden it was illegal to teach a seal to balance a ball on its nose.

In Kansas City, MI (not sure if this one has been repealed either) it was illegal to walk your pet elephant without a leash. (What if it is someone else's elephant?)

Oh yeah-- I almost forgot-- In Atlantic City New Jersey it is illegal to put squirrels down your pants for the purposes of gambling. Don't believe me? Ask Marge Simpson. She'd know. She has a gambling problem.

Singapore has the only sensible law on that list. The rest make me wonder if those jurisdictions had a regular problem of people doing those things.
